Setting up automated emails triggered by tag assigns

Automated emails let you follow up with new signups automatically. In myflow, automations are triggered by tags and can send emails after a delay you choose. This is commonly used to send confirmation or welcome emails after someone signs up.

What this enables

By setting up automated emails, you can:

  • Automatically email new contacts after signup

  • Control exactly when the email is sent

  • Ensure every contact receives the same follow-up message


How automations work in myflow

Automations in myflow are triggered by tags.

When a user submits a contact form:

  • A contact is created in myflow

  • A tag is added to the contact

  • If the contact already exists, only the tag is added

The automation listens for this tag and sends an email after the delay you define.


Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1 — Open automations

  • Go to Emails → Automations in the left menu

  • This is where all automated email workflows are created and managed.


Step 2 — Create a new automation

  • Create a new automation.

  • Give it a clear name so it’s easy to recognize later, for example based on the signup or event it relates to.


Step 3 — Configure the email content

Set up the email that will be sent automatically.

Here you define:

  • Subject line

  • Preview text

  • Email content

This is the message contacts will receive after they trigger the automation.


Step 4 — Choose the trigger tag

Select the tag that should trigger the automation.

This tag must match the tag added in your contact form.

When a contact receives this tag, the automation will start.


Step 5 — Set the delay

Choose how long the system should wait before sending the email.

You can:

  • Choose between "Send immediately" when user gets the tag, or after X hours delay.

This allows you to control the timing of your automation


Step 6 — Activate the automation

Choose when the automation should be active.

You can:

  • Keep it inactive (draft)

  • Activate it immediately

  • Schedule it to activate at a specific time

Save the automation once everything is configured.

⚠️ Important: The automation will only run if the correct tag is added to the contact. Make sure the tag used in the automation matches the tag selected in your contact form.


You’re all set

Once your automation is active:

  • New signups receive the selected tag

  • The automation is triggered automatically

  • The email is sent after your chosen delay

Your automated follow-up is now working in the background.
