Automations send timed emails to your contacts automatically whenever they're assigned a tag. You write the email once, choose which tag triggers it, set a delay, and decide when it goes live — all in one guided flow.
When you create an automation, myflow opens a four-step builder: Inbox, Content, Tags, and Schedule. Move between steps with Next and Previous, and use Save in the top right at any time.
Step 1: Start a new automation
Go to Emails > Automations in the left sidebar.
Click Create new in the top right.
Enter a name for the automation. This is for internal use only — your contacts never see it.
Click Create.
Step 2: Write the inbox content
The first step is Inbox — this controls what your contacts see before they open the email.
Enter a Subject line. This is the headline shown in the recipient's inbox.
Enter the Preview text (up to 50 characters) — the short line shown next to the subject.
Check the Inbox preview on the right to see how it will look.
Click Next.
Step 3: Build the email with blocks
The Content step is where you design the email using content blocks.
Click Add block.
Choose a block type: Text, Panel, Button, Footer, Image, or Social media.
Edit the block's content. For a Text block, set the alignment and type your message using the formatting toolbar.
Add as many blocks as you need. Use Add block here to insert a block between two existing ones.
Use Move to reorder a block, or the trash icon to delete it.
Click Next.
💡 Tip: Click Placeholders above the blocks to insert dynamic fields (like a contact's name) that personalize each email automatically.
Step 4: Set the trigger tag and delay
The Tags step decides who receives the automation and when.
Under Tags that run this automation, search and select the tag (or tags) that should trigger it. A contact receives the automation when they're assigned any of these tags.
(Optional) Under Tags that prevent this automation, add any tags that should exclude a contact from receiving it.
Set the Delay in hours — how long after the tag is assigned the email should send. Use the − and + buttons, or pick a preset: Send immediately, Two hours, One day, Two days, One week, Two weeks, or 30 days.
Click Next.
Step 5: Schedule and save
The final step is Schedule, where you choose a Schedule type:
Inactive — saves the automation as a draft. No emails are sent.
Active — the automation runs and starts sending emails.
Scheduled — pick a future date and time for the automation to activate.
Select your schedule type.
If you chose Scheduled, pick the date and time.
Click Save (or Save and schedule if you set a date).
You're done — your automation is saved. While it's set to Inactive it stays a draft; switch it to Active or Scheduled whenever you're ready for it to start sending.
💡 Tip: Use Preview in the top right to send yourself a test email, and Copy to duplicate an existing automation as a starting point.
💡 Let Loop do it for you: Instead of building this by hand, open Loop in your AI team and describe the automation you want. Loop will set up the trigger, timing, and emails for you — no steps required.
